Parenting Styles
Parenting styles greatly vary from family to family but the modern models of parenting require equal participation of both parents although many single parents all over the world all doing wonderful "job" on their own. However, the majority of psychologists agree that ideal for a child is to have both parents in his/her life.
The authoritarian parenting model which foresees obedience without any debate is long surpassed, while parents who are too permissive often face great difficulties in controlling their children. Each parent wants their children all the best which does not include only physical, psychological, emotional, social and intellectual development of their children. All parents want their children to be happy but they also expect from their children to respect certain rules. However, in practice nothing is as easy as in theory what experience millions of parents all over the world. Children nowadays think with their own head and like to break to rules whenever they have a chance.
Everyone who do not have children yet are convinced their children will not start
screaming and shouting in the store if they will not get something they want.
However, in reality the number of parents who have great difficulties in controlling
their children is rapidly raising regardless if they are strict or indulgent what
clearly proves the fact that parenting is not an easy job. For that reason is highly
important that both parents are active when it comes to their children and that they
both spend as much as possible quality time with their kids.
