Becoming a Father

The excitement reaches its height when finally comes the day of becoming a father. The period of pregnancy and expecting of a child is special experience also for men but nothing can compare with the day their child is finally born.

Men generally like being included in the activities and preparations for the arrival of a child. They join their female partners variety of classes and courses which prepare the future parents on childbirth and the time after the arrival of a child but men also tend to help more in household and other works in which they normally do not. Men also like to have a word in decisions concerning child's name, place and option of childbirth, while many also like to participate the labor to provide support to their partner and to witness the arrival of their child.

The very same or the next day after becoming a father, regardless if for the first or for the tenth time the majority of men celebrate the event with their friends, while the toasts to the newly born son or daughter often end with a hangover the next morning. However, who could resent them. Although they all like to play tough men can hide their feelings when they become fathers. They all appear like the happiest men on earth and ray out special confidence and pride like achieving the greatest accomplishment in their lives. However, when they get themselves together and get down from the clouds men slowly realize that being a father is not all fun and that being a dad requires great responsibility and a lot of sacrifices.
